I mean she gets mad but then she lets him get away with it because oh he’s just trying to protect her! Rolls eyes.ģ. He’s awfully controlling and I don’t know why Bella ignores it. Okay, I kind of already ranted about it at the top with forging the application and being controlling. He even forged her Dartmouth application when she said she didn’t want to apply. He won’t “let” her being the concerning thing here. He’s worried he can’t have Alice see past the werewolves and know what’s happening with Bella every second of her life. The only reasons he won’t let her see Jacob is purely selfish ones. Bella being around Jacob is just as dangerous as her being around Edward.

Telling Bella that she’s ungrounded only if she gets a life outside of Edward because being with him 24/7 wasn’t healthy…like I feel that.

He might not have known anything that was going on but he was the most sensible character out of all of them.

I think it’s safe to say this book was super problematic and disguised itself as a romantic angst filled love triangle story very well. Everything I liked about Jacob I look at now and cringe. Which definitely surprised me, because I really enjoyed this book in high school and reading it now was a yikes moment. Enrapturing millions of readers since its first publication, Twilight has become a modern classic, leaving readers yearning for more. This, by far, was the book I took the most issue with. The series has been praised as New York Times and USA Today bestsellers, a Time magazine Best Young Adult Book of All Time, an NPR Best Ever Teen Novel, and a New York Times Editor’s Choice. With a foreword and afterword by Stephenie Meyer, this compelling reimagining of the iconic love story is a must-read for Twilight fans everywhere. What Beau doesn’t realize is the closer he gets to her, the more he is putting himself and those around him at risk. With her porcelain skin, golden eyes, mesmerizing voice, and supernatural gifts, Edythe is both irresistible and enigmatic. When Beaufort Swan moves to the gloomy town of Forks and meets the mysterious, alluring Edythe Cullen, his life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. You know Bella and Edward, now get to know Beau and Edythe. For fans of the worldwide phenomenon Twilight comes a bold reimagining of Stephenie Meyer’s novel, telling the classic love story but in a world where the characters’ genders are reversed.
